My First Autocross in Michigan

Had a fun time at Michigan International Speedway today. I haven’t autocrossed in a few months. The AX season here starts in April, and I couldn’t make that one since I was at rally school. I think I ended up 4th in class with a 37.7, behind another FR-S at a 36.something that had adjustable shocks and nice tires. Not too bad.

I also realized that since going to rally school, I can’t not left foot brake. It was about halfway through my first run that I realized I was doing it. I was definitely sliding the car around which was super fun, until my last run... Those poor cones.

I have also decided to name my helmet “Kelmet” since it looks like Kermit now. When you move the visor up and down quickly it looks like it’s talking.

I was at the one in Toledo instead today... I drove like dogshit though (per my standards).

I was close to deciding to go to MIS instead, but Detroit region isn’t as awesome as Northwest Ohio Region

Here’s a ride along from the Monte today

I had a myriad of issues, muffler seam blew out on my way to the site, and I was running to fuel starvation issues at the 180 turns. Couldn’t take the right line without the car trying to stall on me.

Best time of 41.337
